Tallus is a carbon planet which orbits the pulsar Ruit. The entire planet was claimed by Rusit Industries and serves as their headquarters. Tallus is an enormous estate built over decades of successful mining and trading.
Physical characteristics
Tallus's crust is rich with carbon and poor with oxygen. With a sky filled with ionized gas, the sky vibrantly flashes between red, blue and yellow. Tidally locked, the planet is incredibly hot on the day side with a slowly eroding surface. The night side is obscured in permanent darkness. Even so, the dark side is a scorching 700 K.
Tallus was formed sometime after Ruit went supernova. It has a dusty, carbide crust on the surface and a kilometer thick layer of diamond. Below, the planet has a carbide mantle and an iron-nickel core. The diamond layer is at an easy to reach 5 kilometers from the planet's crust.
