The Interdependent Systems Commonwealth is a nation founded by the Folkechse, that encompasses most of the Geirastern Sector's habitable worlds.

At one point a member of the Second Galactic Senate, the Commonwealth would gain a little independent significance during the decades after the Anathema's defeat and the Senate's following dissolution, as one of the former-Senate races located closest to the newly-freed Drabreim Sector, and one of the first ex-Senate nations to make contact with the sector's people.

History

Government

The Interdependent Systems Commonwealth is a Confederation, consisting of the various cultures, civilizations, and species under the ISC's aegis. Each 'subnation' has its own representative in the Congress of the ISC, with the de facto leader of the nation being the 'Speaker' of Congress, voted for every 5 years by the Congress' members.

Technology

Each subnation of the Interdependent Systems Commonwealth has its own technologies, although there are some common technologies between them, with each individual subnation something better than the baseline in one area or another.

Nuclear fusion power generation is the most common power generation technology in the ISC. ISC weaponry is traditionally plasma-based, with missile and ballistic weaponry as secondaries. Armor is the most common form of defense for ISC ships, although Alfur ships utilize shields and maneuverability, more commonly. ISC sensors utilize an ability to detect gravimetric distortions to detect things. Sublight propulsion for the ISC utilizes a form of fusion rocket.

Military

While each subnation of the Interdependent Systems Commonwealth has its own militaries for their own self-defense; not only are each subnation's militaries supposed to help each other when necessary and able, but the ISC also has a 'shared' military, which utilizes technologies from all across the ISC, although possesses its own uniform design schemes and doctrines.

Due to this setup, the ISC's shared armed forces are designed with flexibility in mind, but thanks to this lack of specialization, one of the subnation's militaries can be called upon to assist, should the mission's parameters fall under their specific capabilities.
