The UESS is a federal union comprised of thirty-eight systems. Twenty-eight are populated member systems fully entitled to elect their own governments and representatives. Ten are special territories, which are usually lightly populated and governed by the central federal government. Some of these systems are civil colonies awaiting full admission to the union, while others may be transit systems, science outposts, or restricted military zones.

Special territories

Svicec

Main article: Svicec system

Restricted military system where hundreds of academies, training installations, and special shipyards are located. Its temperate world Brembraalke is home to a planet-wide VR network for the realistic training of millions to billions of troops at a time. Ships without authorization to be in Svicec are detained on sight.

Keplat

Main article: Keplat system

Highly restricted military system where special academies, test facilities, shipyards, prison stations, and research installations are kept far from the prying eyes of observers and infiltrators. Unauthorized ships are destroyed on sight as a matter of policy. Rumored to be the headquarters of the enigmatic Naval Intelligence Service.

Kljetholzleute

Main article: Kljetholzleute system

No information on the Kljetholzleute system has been released by the UESS. A strict kill-on-sight policy is advised in all Union-issued astrogation packets. A handful of purported astronomers and pilots have speculated that an immense jump gate-like structure orbits the main star inside of a radioactive gas cloud, but these claims have been widely dismissed. No claimant has ever been successfully located or contacted, and as such their testimonies are considered idle extranet myths.
