Fadorva
The Fadorva (Fradōrber in Taralian) were a reptilian-humanoid species from the planet Ainulin found orbiting the Class K star Lhrinka. They were the primary species of both the Fadorva Star Kingdom and the Sacred Federation of the Praetori.
Appearance
Fadorva were humanoid in shape with soft scaly skin, large eyes and a short beak with two nostrils. The inside of the beak was filled with rows of sharp teeth. Fadorva also grew feathers on the tops of their heads which could greatly vary in color and shape. They tended to have a rather meek appearance with very little muscle. Their homeworld had fairly low gravity and thus, they grew to be at least two meters tall on average.
Later in life, Fadorva would enter an extended chrysalis where they metamorphosize into a much larger being. Their bodies would undergo a drastic transformation into a large serpentine creature known as an Elda Fadorva. In this form, they would stand 6 meters tall when standing upright. The quality of their feathers and the beauty of their scale patterns were often reflections of how they lived in their Nymph forms.
Biology
Fadorva are slow to age. They have two distinct forms: Nymph form and Elda form.
A Fadorva hatches from an egg completely blind and deaf, and thus, they are in constant need of parental care for the first several standard years of their life. A Fadorva did not become fully cognitively aware until age twenty-five. Only then could they actually begin proper learning. This slow maturation cycle would result in them gaining complex brain functions uncommon to many species in the galaxy. They would begin to develop the ability to perceive time in a non-linear fashion. Their ability to see the future and past would increase in development as they age.
After reaching more than two hundred years of age, a Fadorva would enter a chrysalis where they would undergo an accelerated metamorphosis that took just over three years to complete. Upon the completion of the metamorphosis, the Fadorva emerged as an Elda, a much larger serpentine being. An Elda Fadorva would continue to grow larger with no definitive endpoint to their lifespan. Fadorva did not die of old age, but eventually collapsed under their own weight after at least 2000 years. Some Fadorva were known to live longer, but in their natural habitat, the presence of Elda Fadorva was already incredibly rare.
