The Omniverse Nexus is a pocket universe where the capital of the Empire of Arckas once resided. Through an extensive wormhole network, it is known to have once connected at least two million galaxies - one of which was the Crucible Galaxy. These connections were discovered through observation of irregularly placed tachyon particles, but with at least 100 billion galaxies in the entire Omni 01 universe, it is thought that the Empire of Arckas could have potentially been even larger.

The Omniverse Nexus was called as such because it not only connected many of the galaxies of the Omni 01 universe, but also other parallel universes that had different iterations of the Empire of Arckas. Archeologists had struggled to understand how the Empire of Arckas grew in power and scope so quickly relative to the age of the universe. The earliest evidence of the Empire of Arckas dated back ten billion years ago, back when the universe had existed for a mere three billion years. The only known life forms during this time were the Promorin who only developed space travel due to borrowing the technology from other species.

As such, the timeframe was considered far too short for most intelligent life to have evolved let alone a universe-spanning civilization. As such, it is thought that by sharing ideas with other versions of itself from different time periods and universes, the Empire of Arckas was able to rapidly grow in what seemed like a blink of an eye in universal time spans.

The Omniverse Nexus had architecture built to exist across the ten dimensions. As such, when perceived by a normal three-dimensional life form, it would appear as bizarre anomalous formations with little rhyme or reasons. A similar phenomenon has been observed in the Locubrermour pocket dimension used by the Buyuk Empire.

History

Multiversal War

Puzzlingly, because of the infinite multiverse, it was initially a mystery why the Empire of Arckas was struggling with a heat death crisis at all as they could have very easily gone to other universes for more resources. The question was answered with discovery of evidence of a Multiversal War. One particular iteration of the Empire of Arckas had a god machine known as the Basilisk, which had a similar personality as LUCIS, but on a much larger scale. This version of the Empire of Arckas sought to conquer and expand its domain across the multiverse to essentially become infinitely powerful. It sought to dominate all universes going as far as to rewrite the laws of physics to ensure the compliance of their subjects.

It is not known how the Multiversal War ended, but Omni 01's variant of the Empire of Arckas escaped from the war by closing itself off from other universes. As such, for millions of years, they had to contend with the resources available to them in only a single universe. As such, the Heat Death Crisis would be inevitable.

Heat Death Crisis

Eventually, the Empire of Arckas was forced to abandon much of their megastructures due to the massive amount of energy they were consuming. At risk of accelerating the heat death of the universe, the rulers of the empire collectively decided that it was best to peacefully dismantle their civilization. Citizens were given the choice to either leave to other universes or stay behind in Omni 01, but after a certain amount of time, the Omniverse Nexus would be closed for good. And with that, the large scale wormhole network that connected the entire universe and the connections from Omni 01 to other universes.

Legacy

With the departure of so many species, many of which originating from other universes, the Empire of Arckas ensured the continuation of organic life via artificial panspermia. They used the Omniverse Nexus one last time to plant seeds of life across multiple planets in the universe so that their descendants could one day see a galactic community on the scale of the one they created. This provides a xenobiological reason why the Crucible Galaxy seems to have an improbably high rate of intelligent life development. Under normal circumstances, only about twelve space faring civilizations would have been active in the Crucible Galaxy at any given time, but thanks to the efforts of the Empire of Arckas, that number became several hundred.

The only remnants of the Omniverse Nexus would be Na'zrah himself and the Stone Rings which provided intragalactic transport. However, legends and mythology for many species across the galaxies spoke of celestial entities and ancient god-like beings that brought life to the universe.

Structure

The Omniverse Nexus houses several major government buildings where specialized business is conducted. Usually, they deal with violations of the laws of physics to preserve the stability of different universes. They are known to intervene if anomalous phenomena are observed. Citizens of the Empire of Arckas that are interested in creating new universes and civilizations must have their ideas reviewed by a board of directors to ensure that what they are creating does not pose a threat to the multiverse or to other citizens.

Department of Stellar Development

The Department of Stellar Development oversees the formation of stars and other celestial objects throughout a universe. They closely monitor that universe's laws of thermodynamics to control the point of its eventual heat death. This department is known to cause Big Crunches in certain universes if necessary.

Department of Universal Constants

The Department of Universal Constants observes nearby universes for the presence of anomalies that could pose a threat to universal constants such as gravity and the speed of light. These anomalies, usually metaphysical in nature, most often come from other universes with different physical laws that could have catastrophic effects if introduced to a specific universe.

Department of Temporal Matters

The Department of Temporal Matters is involved primarily with dealing with the misuse of time travel. Attempts to change history that cannot be resolved through a stable time loop will often result in what is known as a retcon. The timeline gets forked off into another universe while preserving its own continuity of events.

Department of Sapient Evolution

The Department of Sapient Evolution watches the formation of organic life across a universe. They monitor phenomena such as the number of intelligent life forms that adhere to a humanoid body plan as well as their psychological diversity. This department also watches over the development of artificial intelligence.

Department of Technological Scaling

The Department of Technological Scaling monitors the rate at which a civilization develops technology and spacefaring capabilities. They sometimes interfere on certain extreme occasions - if a civilization develops too fast or if they become stagnant. Their interferences are particularly rare in Omni 01, but in other variants of Omni 01, they were particularly strict.

Department of Logical Probabilities

The Department of Logical Probabilities observe universes for the occurrence of rare events. They take note of anomalies considered so statistically improbably that they should be impossible to have occurred. They often work in close relation with the Department of Temporal Matters dealing with temporal and logical paradoxes.

Department of Cascading Effects

The Department of Cascading Effects provides resources in computing the consequences of the presence of certain anomalies and phenomena. They work in cooperation with other departments to observe domino effects. Because their focus is providing resources and research, they often leave final decisions to other departments regarding political and civil affairs.

Department of Interuniversal Relations

The Department of Interuniversal Relations deals with coordinating relationships between different universes, whether interaction with other universes is allowed or not. They are also responsible for containing and potentially destroying universes that pose a threat to the rest of the multiverse. Omni 01 was deemed a sanctuary universe in order to protect it from the Multiversal War.

This department also provide resources for interpreting other universes that may be very different. For example, they communicate with alternate versions of the Empire of Arckas that have a different set of departments, and they can also translate matter between universes if they have fundamentally different atomic structures.
