Jar is a binary system and a major capital area for the Karalian Empire. Jar I is a class G star with seven planets and Jar II is a red dwarf with no planets. Jar I is enriched with an abundance of metals making it an ideal target for colonization. Jar II orbits the system at a distant 1070 AU.

History

Drallan Federal Monarchy era

The Jar system was discovered as far back as the era when the Vaikan species was under control of the Sinister Hegemony. A star map was discovered that showed the way through a jumpgate network from the Twin Hearts Nebula to the Krizael Expanse. Rustiagon Gelda had tatooed the star map to her shoulder after an attempt by the Eghos to destroy all record of this star map. After the Sinister Hegemony was defeated, Rustiagon Gelda managed to lead a colonial party to establish civilization on the planet Jaran. It served as a means of rebuilding the Drallan Federal Monarchy after it suffered many years under totalitarian control. Rustiagon Gelda appointed a prince to lead society on Jaran, and thus, the Principality of Krizael was established.

The DFM prospered in the Jar system for approximately 4,000 years before eventually collapsing. A Luddite terrorist organization called Severance used EMP devices to cut off contact from the rest of the DFM.

Planets and features

Volkoth

Main article: Volkoth

Volkoth is a planet orbiting so close to its star that its entire surface is covered in lava. Despite being tidally locked, unlike the planet Yolkor, Volkoth is close enough so that convection currents also begin melting the nightside as well.

Mossoon

Main article: Mossoon

Mossoon is a greenhouse planet in the inner life zone. It has an exotic ecosystem of electrosynthetic life forms - the fauna is capable to harnessing the power of electricity to generate sugars.  Mossoon's orbit is unusually elliptical for a habitable planet and varies greatly in temperature.

Jaran

Main article: Jaran

Jaran is a bustling desert planet with many mega cities. A meteor strike 300 million years ago has caused a climate shift so massive that it wiped out 95% of all species. The oceans evaporated, eventually freezing into the planet's polar ice caps. Today, the planet is covered largely in deserts, but is still thriving with life.

Ordos

Main article: Ordos

Ordos is a barren desert moon with no significant atmosphere. It is often used for mining.

Worfin

Main article: Worfin

A rather large dwarf planet found within the system's asteroid belt. Worfin is a major source of iridium for the Karalian Empire.

Quarzik

Main article: Quarzik

A gas giant about two jovian masses. Quarzik is a rich source of helium-3. The planet is also known for its impressive ring system.

Serunos

Main article: Serunos

A cold gas giant with vertical ring system. It was believed that Serunos was knocked on its side by a large meteor impact.

Rhuuz

Main article: Rhuuz

Rhuuz is a brown dwarf that orbits the outer edges within a sparse dust cloud with many scattered asteroids. Had Rhuuz been much larger, the Jar system could have potentially become trinary. It was named after an ancient pagan earth god Rhuuz-tih.

Stations, static warships and artificial structures

Krizael Palace

Krizael Palace is a large floating structure in low orbit. It is situated above the city of Ner'Yall. It was originally constructed during the era of the Allied Sovereign Nations.
