The Anathema Wars were a devastating event in the Crucible Galaxy. A swarm of ancient femtobots, once used in the distant past by the Arckasians to mitigate the inevitable heat death of the universe, they had to be summoned once again to destroy the malevolent AI LUCIS. The cost was that the Anathema could barely be controlled, resulting in the destruction of thousands of planets. Although the galaxy was saved, it came at a great cost. The entire infrastructure of the Second Galactic Senate collapsed leaving many once powerful polities in ruins.
