In the late 37th millennium BDR, nostalgia for a united Arkarnas became a cultural and political phenomenon in the core prefectures, many of whom remained loyal to whatever remained of the Republic. Around this time, the local government on [[Karnas]] began to exert its influence over the Taroran core worlds, beginning the gradual reassembly of the Taroran state and the ensuing [[Wars of Karnasian Reunification]]. The Karnas government, seeing itself as the oldest region and natural successor to the Taroran Republic, centralised the territories under its jurisdiction and re-established Keldarian meritocracy. Over the next century, Karnas gradually invaded and reconquered the outlying regions of Taroran space.
