'''Morta''' was a planet in the [[Mortan system]], a white dwarf located deep within [[Globular Cluster Z]]. Despite it having been in the local habitable zone, the planet was a barren rock, covered in craters. It has since been destroyed in the [[Incident of Morta]].

The planet was settled by the [[Karalian Empire]] as a means of studying the galactic core's habitable zone and how life could eventually take root. They had established a biodome with future plans to terraform it using [[Veset's Terraforming Device]]. Despite its remote location, the settlement grew very quickly over the years to around three million people. Most of the population were explorers and entrepreneurs looking to establish a foothold in the region as well as those who simply wanted to start a new life.

The colony was suddenly destroyed when the [[Buyuk Empire]] tested out the Star Buster on the system, causing Mortan to go supernova and engulf the planet with it. While the Karalian Empire had previously only been involved in skirmishes, this act of aggression and mass loss of life provoked the Karalian Empire in a full-scale war with the Buyuk.
