The '''Kallekite''' are a species of creatures who possess a parasitic means of reproduction. Due to this fact, the behavior of their hive mind, and their generally-unsettling appearance, the Kallekite are reviled by the other races of the [[Drabreim Sector]], who only haven't exterminated them due to moral reasons (the [[Lael'eth]] and [[Syreni]]) or simply due to the fortress-like nature of their only starsystems (the [[Sunovian]]s).

==Biology==
Purestrain Kallekite possess bipedal bodies with 4 arms, 6 eyes, and a hardened carapace. However, they also possess a stinger on their abdomen, which is used in their primary means of reproduction. This stinger injects Kallekite biomatter into a viable reproducer of another carbon-based species, where it mutates an ovum from the host and rapidly grows into a Kallekite Hybrid with that species.

Kallekite Hybrids take on traits from their hosts: Sunovian-Kallekite hybrids are strong and fast, Lael'eth-Kallekite hybrid are genetically-malleable and long-lived, and so-on. On death by old age, Kallekite Hybrids will either evolve into a Kallekite Warforms or a Purestrain, turning into a cocoon with the new 'form' bursting out within days. Lael'eth-Kallekite hybrids are the exception: they do not die of old age, but their genetic malleability means they can take on traits from other Kallekite forms by consuming the corpse of a Kallekite Hybrid, Warform, or Purestrain.

Kallekite Technology is biological-based; in fact, the Kallekite Hivemind is supported by a subspace network upheld by a biotechnological transceiver grown into every Kallekite Purestrain or Hybrid in existence. However, because of the chemicals used in this biotech, Kallekite biomass is mostly volatile when facing large quantities of water (a puddle is fine, an ocean is ''not''). Because of this, [[Syreni]] are actually considered a desireable 'breeding species' for the Kallekite, because the Syreni's aquatic nature causes any Kallekite born from one to adapt a means of protecting their biotech from water, allowing for aquatic Kallekite.

==Culture==
The Kallekite have little in the way of culture: the Hive Mind only cares for the survival and propagation of the Kallekite race, which, due to how Kallekite reproduce, puts them at odds with all 3 of their neighbors in the [[Drabreim Sector]], especially due to their frequent, unprovoked attacks on the peaceful [[Syreni]], which has even led the militaristic [[Sunovian]]s to protect the gentle aquatic race.

==Technology==
Kallekite technology is organic in nature; grown as opposed to manufactured. However, the chemicals found in their biotechnology are reactive to water, requiring hybridization with an aquatic species to counteract.
