The Palasarian Holy Empire was a splinter Ghorax faction of the Buyuk Empire, having formed when cosmic radiation blast damaged their cybernetics, thus opening their minds to the outside world. Their capital city of Palasaria was built on the planet Leguma, which orbited the pulsar Koss. They were contemporaries with the Allied Sovereign Nations.

History

Awakening

A mysterious cosmic event believed to be a sudden burst of radiation struck the Ghorax colony of Leguma. Their cybernetics were damaged thus freeing them from the control of INFRA. The native Ghorax saw this as a great awakening or an enlightenment. They adopted a religion based on seeing the truth and being set free from mortal bounds. However, the Buyuk Empire was not too keen on the Palasarians being freed and made steps to repair their cybernetics. However, the Palasarians rebelled. The nearby Allied Sovereign Nations also intervened to support the Palasarians.

With the two nations coming into first contact, they culturally intermingled with one another. Leguma grew in a population of Vaikan, and the Palasarian Holy Empire became a part of the Allied Sovereign Nations.

The Hidden War

The Buyuk were aware that they had signed a peace treaty with the First Galactic Senate on the opposite side of the galaxy. However, they did not want to make their war with the Palasarians publicly known, so they changed their tactics to quiet infiltration and terrorism rather than total war. The Allied Sovereign Nations was unaware of the Galactic Senate's existence, and if the two were to meet, it would be catastrophic for the Buyuk Empire. Thus, the Buyuk Empire on paper withdrew, but they continued to attack the city of Palasaria using mercenaries and religious zealots. The Buyuk's secret forces would deny working for the Buyuk Empire as to not make the war public.

Closing of the CC-716 system

A significant gateway system known as the CC-716 system between Allied Sovereign Nations and Buyuk territory system was intercepted. The Buyuk had once used it as transportation to the Koss system. The Palasarian Holy Empire, desperate to end the Hidden War, used a logic bomb to disable the jumpgates in the system, thus cutting off the Buyuk from an important route. For the next several hundred years, the Buyuk were unable to reach the Koss system. With CC-716 completely cut off from the rest of the galaxy, the military units on both sides of the war that stayed behind established permanent settlements on the planet CC-716a and continued skirmishing. Over the course of the generations, the two sides forgot why they fought and became a lower tech backwater colony.

Quiet Period

With the Allied Sovereign Nations having collapsed from the sterility plague that arrived concurrent to the Hidden War, the Palasarian Holy Empire kept itself reserved and isolated for the next few hundred years. They reduced their transmissions to the outside of their system hoping that they could continue to hide from the Buyuk and the chaos of the plague.

The Enemy Returns

The site of a Buyuk ship in the Palasarian Holy Empire territory was cause for alarm. The enemy which they had thought they had defeated had returned. The Buyuk Empire, having emerged from its era of stagnancy, began to mobilize and increase its technology, thus reestablishing a route to the Koss system through alternative means. The Palasarian Holy Empire, unprepared for this encounter, sent a distress call hoping to reach out to any other Vaikan that might have survived the sterility plague. The Karalian Empire, a descendant of the Allied Sovereign Nations, responded to the call which prompted the KE to further explore and chart out the systems near Greenwater. They would discover the Buyuk Empire for the first time.

As the years went on, the Buyuk Wars ignited and began, dragging the Karalian Empire into a new conflict with the Palasarian Holy Empire caught in the middle. Things would not go well as the Buyuk Empire eventually managed to take over the entire Greenwater Nebula, the Palasarian Holy Empire included.

Fall

While the Buyuk occupied Greenwater, one of their demands was for King Rustiagon Karrel to give up Veset's Terraforming Device as it was stolen by Karrel's father Reckar. Karrel refused, and Greenwater President Kolin Laisve was killed, prompting an unrest in public opinion in most of Greenwater. However, the Palasarian Holy Empire were still avid supporters of Karrel as they believed that his family was the one that saved them from the Buyuk years prior. The Palasarians preached that Karrel was merely trying to do what was right for the greater good and that his intentions were peace. They had voiced that one should not be tempted by the Buyuk's offers to make Greenwater into a puppet state, and that one should be awakened and enlightened as they were when the Palasarian Holy Empire first formed.

Unfortunately, the genuine efforts of the Palasarian Holy Empire only made them seen as a threat to Buyuk control over Greenwater. To make an example out of them, the Buyuk launched a Planet Buster on Leguma, completely destroying the planet and killing 4 billion people. Less than 5,000 survived the calamity. While these 5,000 escaped to live peaceful lives, for the rest of Greenwater, King Karrel was immediately blamed for these deaths ruining any hope of a willing renouncing of Buyuk control over Greenwater. Worse yet, extensive victim blaming took place as the rest of Greenwater not only blamed Karrel, but the Palasarian Holy Empire themselves for allowing the situation to happen to them.

Memorials

After the Buyuk Wars, King Rustiagon Karrel made it a point to erect a memorial for the Palasarian Holy Empire. The remains of Leguma became the site of a museum with the pulsar Koss giving a beautiful vista to the area. However, as war debts incurred themselves, the Karalian Empire could no longer afford to maintain the museum. Karrel had no choice but to auction off ownership of the museum to private ventures. The Umbra Mining Corporation would gain the rights to it, and they established a galaxy-class cruise liner to serve as a tourist destination.
